Botox is best: Technically you could reduce the masseter muscle surgically but that is much riskier and requires a scar, so why consider that when Botox can do the job?

Yes but...: Botox can work well to change the shape of a face that is too "square" due to large masseter muscles. This can also help reduce symptoms of tmj. Too much Botox can cause difficulty chewing so go to a doc that has lots of experience. Surgery could do the same thing but why bother? Botox is safer and cheaper in this case.

Yes: There is a surgical procedure to reduce the masseter muscle. However, try Botox first to see if it works well for you.

Botox masseter: Yes, but generally Botox has been the most satisfying treatment option. Other options include seeing a dentist to improve your bite and reduce stress from teeth grinding. Lastly, surgery to reduce the size of the masseter muscle. Surgery carries the most risk, and normally avoided.

Wear a dental applia: If the cause of your large masseter muscles is excessive teeth grinding or clenching at night, the use of a custom fitted dental appliance to prevent grinding will over time decrease the size of the masseter muscles.
