Of Course: Of course there may be complications from a general anesthetic. They may range from relatively minor (e.g. Sore throat) to major (e.g. Severe blood transfusion reaction). During the pre-operative meeting, anesthesiologists try to convey the plans, options and potential complications that are most appropriate to your health issues and the planned surgery. That is the point of informed consent.
