The left side of my face and neck have been swollen for about a year. what could be causing this? are any heart related?

No : There in no form of heart disease that would cause one side of your face to swell. An allergic reaction comes to mind. Obstruction of venous drainage on one side would be a rare cause. You should see your doctor to be examined and tested.
