Post op rectal surg: The plug is a soft stent in your rectum that will keep the rectal walls compressed and separate to assist healing the suture line. You remove the plug, during shower or bath. Bowel movement will likely occur when plug comes out. Ok to call your surgeon. Ok to start a bowel regimen, ok to use a hairdryer after shower in the area.
