Chemical meningitis: After a spinal tap there can be a CSF leak where the needle punctured the dura in the back. The blood patch is an attempt to seal the hole by causing a local irritation to produce a scar. Rare cases set off a more diffuse irritation of the meninges that can be a form of chemical meningitis. It should resolve with rest and anti- inflammatory meds. Discuss this with your doctor.

BP for what? Call MD: This could be very serious. Did the anesthesiologist at the hospital give you any literature to read prior to leaving the hospital, day-clinic? Make sure you follow all literature given. If in doubt call the anesthesiologist who performed the surgery and notify him of the exact pill you took! was it otc, was it rx, was it an opiate nsaid. All small but critical information we need to know.
