It depends: If the neurologist was the physician who prescribed the nortriptylene, and s/he feels it's no longer needed, then deciding to stop it sounds reasonable. If not, the original condition could recur when the medicine is stopped. Also, the time frame of dose reductions may be a little quick -- but you haven't been taking it very long. Half-life of nortriptylene is 13- 88 hours.
