Pneumonia: Is seldom transmissible from person to person. Whether this is possible depends upon the organisms causing the infection, the proximity of the people involved, their immune status, whether they smoke, and a variety of other factors. When transmissible it occurs most when the infected person is coughing and producing droplet nuclei of infected material which can be inhaled by others.
