Used for ovulation: The bhcg injection is used to trigger ovulation. Ovulation will occur 36 or so hours after the injection. Conception would occur after ovulation. A pregnancy would show up on a pregnancy test about 7-10 days later.

Can't really tell: It takes a couple of weeks before the HCG level from a pregnancy is high enough to give a reliable urine pregnancy test result, so one should relax and test in 2 weeks.
