Long time: I would take him for a check at urgent care or a doctor's office. Make sure he isn't dehydrated, anemic: there is likely an underlying reason why what you've been doing hasn't helped. If he has a cluster headache, they are difficult to treat and can last for days , most other headaches subside after 1-2 days.
