It depends: One common rule of thumb is that the number of ounces we drink each day should be half our weight in pounds (or about equal our weight in kg), so a 120 lb. Person should drink 60 oz. This does not have to all be water, though water is the best overall choice. However, if it is hot out or you are very active you need to drink more.
