Doctor can evaluate: A primary care doctor, an ENT doctor, or a dentist can look to see what a bump on the palate might be. If it is a small, soft, temporary sore bump, that could be due to trauma, a virus, or a canker sore. Any other bump should be checked to see if it is a mucocele (cyst with mucus/saliva inside), a wart (caused by some strain of hpv), or more rarely, some sort of oral tumor.
