A member asked:

Would estrogen be good for women in their 60's?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Depends: If symptomatic with hot flashes, difficulty concentrating, vaginal dryness, etc., maybe. The whi panel has not yet concluded as to what age the risks of estrogen replacement therapy exceed the benefits and should be discontinued. The mid 60's is a non--empiric time to start weaning ert patients off estrogen until a research study proves otherwise.
