Brainstem?: Alteration of taste sensation is unusual in a cerebral stroke but not in brainstem strokes.You mentioned symptoms starting in your left arm but did not describe the full extent of your sensory symptoms, nor any possibly non-sensory symptoms. That additional information would be helpful.
