No: Excessive bleeding - soaking pads and passing clots-- is not normal and should be evaluated by your gynecologist. There are a variety of causes and multiple treatment options depending on your age, medical issues and fertility plans.

Sunday I started my menstrual cycle. It was and still is really heavy. I would fill the pad almost instantly. I'd say I fill up one pad in an hour and a half. Quite a bit of clotting and once I've used the bathroom bleeding remains heavy.
