A member asked:

Is it normal to have blood clot during menstrual cycle?

Yes: If you are talking about seeing blood clots coming out of your vagina, yes, that is normal. Just like if you cut your skin and then it clots and forms a scab, the blood coming out of your uterus can clot inside of your vagina before it comes out, especially if you are lying down or sitting down for more than about an hour.

Agree with Dr. B: Clots usually indicate heavier bleeding. You may wish to take oral iron and multivitamins to prevent anemia. Have a healthy diet, exercise, drink plenty of water, have safe sex, no tobacco alcohol weed or street drugs. For nutrition: http://www.choosemyplate.gov/. Get HPV vaccine
