Potential problems: At three weeks the fracture has not healed. You could either rebreak the bone or the fracture could angulate, leading to difficultly with use of the arm. Trust your treating physician.

Don't recommend it: 3 weeks is not enough time for the fracture to heal unless you are an infant. Since you are being treated with a cast, the assumption is that the alignment of your arm is acceptable. Removing the cast could result in displacement. If that happens the fracture will heal in a poor position, or not heal at all - either situation will keep you out of work even longer - best to follow the doctors plan.
