A member asked:

After 8 years ofgastrict bypass my wife complain of pain on upper side of stomach is this usual?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Maybe: Many folks have a variety of nonspecific pains that can be normal, but after gastric bypass surgery, it could be the sign of an internal hernia. You need to see a surgeon with experience performing gastric bypass (preferably her surgeon), and may need a ct scan or even a diagnostic laparoscopy if symptoms persist or are severe.
