Fertility testing: See a fertility specialist (reproductive endocrinology and infertility) if ttc without success for 6-12 months. We check your ovarian reserve (egg supply) with a ultrasound, & hormone tests including amh fsh and sometimes a Clomid (clomiphene) challenge test. A hysterosalpingogram (hsg) checks your fallopian tubes and uterine cavity, and a semen analysis is done as we find a sperm problem almost half the time.

Try for one year: Most physicians feel you should try for at least one year. 6 months if you're over 35. At that point you should see a fertility specialist.
