General rules: Infections in the mother can harm a fetus 2 ways.If it triggers excessive fever for days during the first weeks it may. The other way is if it travels in the blood and infects baby, like rubella or the new zeka. Neither of these scenarios are part of the pertussis experience in adults. It is more of a nasty bronchitis with 3 months of coughing.
