Opposite: Immunized children are less likely to be infected with Pertussis than those not immunized. Effective immunity is not usually established until the 4th vaccines, generally administered at 15 months of age. The virus in the vaccine is not live, and cannot produce natural disease.

No: Actually babies under 6 mo of age that have not been vaccinated represent the age group most likely to die from the disease. The vaccine was synthesized in the lab and contains no living material. It does stimulate the body to make protective antibodies that can prevent baby from getting whooping cough.
