Yes: Position of the baby may make the fetal heart more difficult to locate. When in doubt, do a bedside ultrasound.

See below: The incredible hiding baby is something we see fairly often. Your OB doctor will be able to use other devices, such as ultrasound, to keep an eye on the child.
