Bipolar Types: Both bipolar i and ii have depression; bipolar i has full mania with extremely elevated or irritable mood, grandiosity, racing thoughts, reduced need for sleep, extreme involvement in high risk activities, etc. May be psychotic -- and much more impaired. Bipolar ii has hypomanic episodes with similar but less intense symptoms. Still it's a marked changed from normal state and lasts @ least 4 days.
