Uni- vs bi-polar sxs: A person with unipolar depression may be very low or irritable with impact on varying areas of life function. A person with bipolar depression has both periods of lows but also has periods of markedly increased energy level, irritable or euphoric mood, rapid thoughts, impulsivity & hyperproductivity.
