Cluster headaches: Histamine cephalgia or "horton's headaches", or cluster headaches all can suddenly attack in early am hrs with severe focal pain over one eye, lasting 30-60 min. Other migraine variants may cause this type of sleep disruption. Neurologists who specialize in headaches use various meds to prevent the attacks and break up the clusters, so get an appointment and start sleeping better.

Anything: Headaches can come from fatigue, sleeping too much or too little, eye strain, sleep apnea, snoring, being dehydrated, having chronic sinusitis or allergies, too much caffeine or over the counter headache medication, high blood pressure or something more serious like a tumor. See your doctor and get checked.
