Not likely: No connection between asperger's and fatal familial insomnia. Any family history of the latter? Symptoms you describe are not often associated with a sleep disorder except for sleepiness. Actually your "syndrome" sounds closer to encephalitis than asperger's or ffi.

Aspergers: Actually, it sounds as if you are having anxiety and possible panic attacks. Be sure to seek out a good psychologist who can help you build some skills to deal with this.
