Dislocated?: If the jaw is dislocated out of the socket, you will have major jaw/ear pain but not popping. If your TMJ (jaw joint) disk is our of position, you will have the symptoms you describe. Either way, it can be a serious problem. See a TMJ expert. Any dentist can be a TMJ expert with the proper training and experience. Commonly, oral surgeons, prosthodontists, and orofacial pain docs. Ask for referral.
