When they're ready: Most staples are used in areas where there is a need for them to be in for ten to 14 days. After that its surgeon's preference.

5 to 10 days: There are certain rules in surgery which dictate the removal of sutures and staples in different areas of the body. Your surgeon should know them. Good luck from nyc.

It depends: When staples or stitches should be removed depends on how much tension there is in the skin closure. It also depends on whether or not a deep skin suture was used or not. Your surgeon is in the best position to determine when to remove staples.
