Tarsal Tunnel : The symptoms you describe are those of tarsal tunnel syndrome. Like carpal tunnel syndrome that affects the hands, this is a nerve entrapment condition in the inner side of the ankle and heel. The larger nerves that pass through this area become trapped by the surrounding fibrous structures or get pressure from enlarged veins or a soft tissue mass. You should be checked out immediately.

Have it evaluated: Heel pain is most often caused by plantar fasciitis, a condition that is sometimes also called heel spur syndrome when a spur is present. Heel pain may also be due to other causes, such as, diabetic neuropathy, infection, tendonitis, arthritis, stress fracture, nerve irritation, retained foreign body, bone tumor, or a cyst. Have it evaluated by a professional and get the appropriate treatment.
