See a surgeon: An orthopedic surgeon can evaluate your injury and help you decide whether surgery is indicated.

Pain/catching= surg: Not all meniscal tears require surgery, but most do. The presence of pain, swelling and mechanical symptoms (catching or locking of knee) are common signs and symptoms that wil indicate a meniscus tear for surgery.
