A 38-year-old member asked:
after a tibia and fibia break how long it will take me to regain muscle in my leg?

Same as time in cast: It will take about as long to regain strength as your leg was immobilized, assuming proper strength training. Consult a physical therapist for help unless you already know a lot about muscle training.

Muscle: It depends on how much has been lost and the time it took to heal . Your surgeon can refer you to physical therapy for the help you seek.

Tight pants: What you're describing sounds like meralgia paresthetica. Also known as "calvin klein syndrome, " it is caused when tight pants compress the nerve going to the front of your thigh. The treatment is to wear looser-fitting clothing. If that doesn't work, you might have a neurologic problem, and you should see your doctor.

How do I get my leg muscles to stop hurting during excersising?

Dr. Michele Arnold answered

Exercise discomfort: It is difficult to judge the source of your pain without knowing more details. I will say this: I am a runner, and have daily leg discomfort with my runs. The benefits of exercise far outweigh the discomforts, assuming you do not have a stress fracture or other injury that needs to be treated. Like they say, "pain is inevitable. Suffering is optional.".
