Roughly, how long would it take for a broken tibia and fibula, in the same leg to heal?

6 weeks: If it is an uncomplicated fracture of each and immobilised properly, they will take 6 weeks to heal. If they are complicated by being displaced, infected or affecting a joint surface it may take longer.

Depends: If the fractures involve the shaft of the bones, healing can take months. The fracture may be treated in an cast, or if malaligned, require surgery with a rod or plates and screws. The tibia can be a very slow bone to heal. An orthopaedic surgeon can give you the best estimate after reviewing your x-rays.
