A member asked:

What percentage of the us population die from old age?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

About 5%: This is just this pathologist's estimate. The diseases of extreme old age include a poorly-understood failure of the heart muscle, loss of physical strength required to breathe and protect / maintain the airway, and a mysterious unwillingness to eat that a wise caregiver respects. This is far higher than in the old days, when few people made it to age 60.
