Absolutely: The bladder is controlled locally by a circuit of nerves that go to the spine at the lower back area but there is a circuit of nerves that also go to the brain so that you can think about and determine when you want to go to the bathroom. Disruption of that "brain" circuit can affect the information going to the bladder and cause voiding problems.
