Tongue tied.: Ankyloglossia occurs when the frenulum (tissue on the bottom of the tongue) is both thick & short which prevents the tongue from moving correctly. It can lead to problems with speech and make it difficult to move developmentally from swallowing like an infant to swallowing like an adult. It may make kissing or licking the lips more difficult.
