Not a worry: Polio is virtually nonexistent in the us due to the vaccines. Some pts have unilateral leg atrophy, as a remainder of childhood disease, and when breathing problems did occur, an iron lung was employed. Some pts do experience a post-polio syndrome, with weakness, fatigue and further muscular atrophy.
