Different things: Can cause pain in the feet. Burning pain leads me to think there may be irritation or entrapment of a nerve or neuroma. Having said that, other things may lead to the pain that you described such as stress fractures. Evaluation by a podiatrist could be beneficial.

Morton's neurome: This is possibly a morton's neuroma which is a compressed nerve that swells and becomes surrounded by scar-like tissue. It can be treated and resolved by a podiatrist.
