Epidural: Sometimes there is more pain for a short period of time after an epidural. Then it dissipates and one should feel better.

Yes, probably: The epidural injection you received, as is the case with most "cortisone" injections, has 2 components: a long-acting local anesthetic and a steroid. The local lasts for 4-5 hours, and the steroid takes about 72 hours to "kick-in." during the interval, you pain may be worse, as there is now fluid around the area increasing the pressure. Take you usual pain meds for this. You've got 2 days to go.
