Investigate chymopap: Years ago chymopapaine, basically a meat tenderizer, was used for herniated disks. Investigate on internet to see if still an accepted treatment.

Still Too Early: If you had epidural injection yesterday, its still too early to see if they will help. It can take up to 7-10 days before its best efficacy. If you still have pain, you may need to consider radiofrequency ablation to see if that helps. Otherwise see a fellowship trained spine/pain specialist (physiatrist) preferred to evaluate other options. You may even be candidate for stem cell therapy.
