How common is the cold?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Over 1000 viruses: Very very very common. It is now known that there over 1000 different viruses which cause the common cold. A child in day-care/school is estimated to be "sick" about 60 days/year--yes, 60 days. This means 1 out of 6 days--vast majority of these sick days are from common colds. As we get older, we build up immunity and the frequency lessens. If u have recurrent colds, consult doc. Good luck.
