No easy solution: There are many treatments, none of which is 100% effective. It is caused by an auto-immune process that destroys melanocytes (the cells in the skin that contain pigment). First line therapy includes topical steroids, topical phototherapy (light), and several other medications and laser therapy. The best thing to do is to consult a dermatologist who specializes in the treatment of vitiligo.
