Stop drinking: The most important thing is complete and total cessation of alcohol. In some cases, corticosteroids (predisone) may help, but only a liver specialist should make that call. Prevention of portal hypertension and bleeding with beta-blockers may also help, reduced protein in diet may be needed. There are surgeries that can reduce some complications; ultimately, if severe, transplantation is an option.

No alcohol: do not drink alcohol at all. You need to go to Alcoholic anonymous. Seek medical attention and ultimately if liver gets worse you will need a liver transplant, as long as you are alcohol free
