If you are not awakened during a sleep study does that mean you probably do not have sleep apnea?

No: An important feature of sleep apnea are arousals, especially associated with a decrease in the blood oxygen content. The arousals lighten your sleep but not enough for you to become aware of waking up. The technicians may awaken you if the apnea or decreased oxygen is very severe.

Sleep Apnea: Sleep apnea may cause mini arousals not enough to wake you up so it does not guarantee that you dont have sleep apnea.
