3 different problems: 1. Depression= sadness, lack of pleasure, problems w/ sleep & appetite, suicidal ideation, etc. 2. Derealization = a sense that the external world is surreal. Not a psychiatric dx. 3. Depersonalization disorder = a sense that we are not real or that we can't relate to who we are. Thought of as a dissociative disorder in dsm.
