Exam: It could be a foreign body sensation from irritation or something more. Have a doctor take a look. You might need someone who can look down behind your tongue, like an ENT (ears, nose & throat) doctor who has a flexible scope, or a mirror to look down there. As long as you're breathing ok you can wait a few days, but, if it's really annoying have it checked.
