Had depo-provera shot was off for 12 days and had unprotected sex then got depo-provera shot again but no period, had period before the the first depo-provera

Grace period: Depotprovera should ideally be given every 12 weeks, but there is a grace period of 2 weeks, before the next shot has to be given to effectively prevent pregnancy. There does not need to be a menstrual period during the extended time period before the next shot. If one wanted to be sure, a pregnancy test will need to be done the earliest a week after unprotected intercourse.
