How can you tell whether you have macular degeneration?

Sometimes: If the damage centrally is advanced, you will see blurred central vision or distortion of objects (metamorphopsia). Sometimes poor adaptation to light intensities or poor night vision can be symptoms. Since symptoms develop slowly, early macular degeneration diagnoses are often surprising to patients.
