A 49-year-old member asked:
can any doc tell me what's the best digital book reader for people with macular degeneration?

Dr. Richard Scartozzi answered

See below: It's all about contrast and magnification, which are adjustable features on nearly all the digital book readers. I would try the different ones in the store before purchasing one to see which is best for you.

Macular degeneration: Dry type treatment = areds2 vitamins, uv protection, no smoking. Wet type treatment = eye injections with steroid or anti-vegf medication or laser treatment. You need to see a retina specialist.

Not sure: You have to try different bulbs and see what works best for you. What is certain is that patients with macular degeneration need more/brighter light for reading.
