Not so good: A report last year from the U.S. Centers for disease control and prevention indicated that at least 25% of the us population reported having a mental illness in the previous year. The same report showed that 8.4 million americans had suicidal thoughts in the past year, 2.2 million made plans to kill themselves, and 1 million attempted suicide. Note: stigma may lead to under-reporting.
