Toe pain: Much more information is needed in order to answer this question. The type of pain, when it occurs, is it on or off weight bearing or both, is there swelling, has there been trauma, etc? Please be more specific.

Many things: Need to see a podiatrist to see what is causing the pain. There are many things that could cause pain , fracture, gout, turf toe, dislocation, infection and vascular issues.
