See a vascular DR: This is not normal, the pain and swelling could be due to a problem with your veins, having trouble returning blood to your heart. Schedule a visit with a vascular specialist.

Vein dysfunction: You are most likely dealing with a problem with the venous return of blood to the heart. A diagnostic ultra-sound is indicated.
